After the holidays I find it more difficult than usual to get back into eating a normal, healthy and well balanced diet. Usually getting off track doesn't take a lot of commitment to regain focus and start to eat clean again but there is something about all of the Christmas food and the holidays that makes it especially difficult to start eating healthy again. Whenever I find it more difficult than usual I will do a juice cleanse, more of a smoothie cleanse I guess because I use whole fruits and vegetables and blend them rather than use a juicer. I find restricting my diet to this, or even partially this, for three to five days leaves less room for snacking and helps recharge and jumpstart my diet back to normal. 

Green Juice: cucumber, spinach, whole lemon
Carrot: carrot, ginger, turmeric, black pepper (helps digest turmeric)
Spicy Tomato: tomato, parsley, cucumber, cayenne
Protein: plain yogurt, bananas, almonds, chocolate protein


  1. It's absolutely crazy to think that we have a food-glorious-food jam packed month, then in January it's all about healthy eating and cutting back. Our minds nor our stomachs can understand this change! But coming up with delicious fruit cleansers are ideal! They look so yummy and will definitely recharge you.

  5. I'm the same when I make juices as I use a Nutribullet so it leaves the juices slightly thicker. I did a juice cleanse last year and actually really liked it. It's a great way to recharge. I should really do another one again soon. I love the little juice bottles, I think these would definitely help me to get on track when I'm out and about, where did you get yours from?

  6. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a recent vacation post-Christmas, I am really finding it harder than normal to get back on track. I agree, sometimes deciding on a cleanse is the easiest way. Maybe I need to do that!
